FAQ About Super 8 Film
& Important Disclaimers
Q: How long is each roll of film?
A: Each roll records up to 3 minutes of footage. Packages include multiple rolls to capture your key moments.
Q: Can you shoot continuously like digital video?
A: No. Film rolls are short, so filming is done in segments. This creates a distinctive thoughtful pacing for your wedding film.
Q: Will I get raw footage or only the edited video?
A: The package includes a finished edited video. Raw film scans are available as an optional add-on.
Q: Will I receive all the footage shot on film?
A: No. You will receive only the edited highlights and footage that I select as the best representation of your day. The full raw footage is not provided by default.
Q: Can I get the physical rolls of developed film?
A: Yes. Physical developed film rolls can be provided as an add-on for $50 per roll.
Q: How long does processing and editing take?
A: Film processing, scanning, and editing typically take four to six weeks, depending on season and workload.
Q: Can you shoot in low light?
A: Super 8 film has limited low light capability compared to digital cameras. We will work with you to plan shooting during good lighting conditions for best results. Super 8 does better in day time than during night.
Q: Are colours and exposure guaranteed?
A: Film has natural variations and imperfections that add to its charm. Exposure and colours can vary slightly; this is part of the Super 8 look.
Q: What happens if the film is damaged or lost?
A: While rare, film is a physical medium and can be damaged during shooting, processing, or shipping. We handle it with care, but some risks are inherent. Please note we are not responsible for damage or loss that occurs during shooting or processing.
Important Disclaimers:
- Super 8 film is an analog medium. Scratches, dust, light leaks, and grain are normal and part of the charm.
- Film cannot be reviewed live. What is captured is final once shot. We never really know what we're gonna get...
- Because of the short roll length, some moments might not be recorded continuously.
- We do our best to capture all important moments, but Super 8 filming may not cover every detail like digital video.
- We recommend discussing any must-have shots beforehand to ensure focus on those moments.
- Weather, lighting, and other environmental factors can affect film quality.
- Final video delivery times may vary based on processing labs and editing workload.
